Week One...

In our first workshop session, we were given a presentation, demonstrating how to use, useful shortcuts and where to save our work. We were familiarised with the various technology and equipment that we would need to familiarise ourselves with. The equipment included, HD Flip cameras, DV Cameras etc..

During the second half of the workshop session we, were placed into pairs. We were then asked to interview each other for five minutes. Then from the information that we gathered, we were to write a stand first, consisting of a maximum of sixty words. The scenario we had was to write as if we were writing for a local newspaper.

This was my final stand first:

An ambitious and enthusiastic twenty-year old, first year university student, Becky Dawes from our very own Sheffield is striving to achieve a first in her media studies course. Her aim is to secure and pursue a career in the communications industry, solely motivated by her beautiful eight-month old daughter, Grace. This truly is one of the most heart-warming stories in our local community of today.

Blogging...

My name is Amir Choudhury and I am going to be keeping a blog for my Making Media module at Sheffield Hallam University. During this module, the aim is to understand the equipment and technologies behind the world of media. Not only will I be able to have a better understanding of how various media equipment works and become more computer literate, but I will also be developing good team building skills, as a lot of this module is group based.
